Something Borrowed, Something New, Something Old and Something Blue! or maybe Turquoise...




I love brides who think outside the box and go the non traditional route! This Turquoise wedding cake was perfect for a Summer wedding day.  The bride really picked colors that popped,  and just perfect for the summer season.  The cake is adorned with periwinkle sugar flowers throughout,  and edible bead strands as accents. The Bride chose Vanilla Cake with Strawberry Mousse for the first two tiers and Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Bean Filling for the top tier.  Summer weddings can be a bit of challenge, because heat and humidity are a cake designer's worst nightmare.  The possibility of sugar flowers not drying on time or fondant cracking is high,  so a good air conditioned room is definitely a must.  Luckily the cake Gods were on my side that day and I averted a disaster. It was a real pleasure to make this wedding cake.  I want to extend my congratulations again to my bride Michele and her dear husband on their wedding, may you have many wonderful years together!
