Pearls & Lace Wedding Cake

One of our major projects in class was to recreate a wedding cake based on a wedding dress. Since I just got married less than a year ago I thought, what a great cake to make!  Of course, I wouldn't miss the opportunity of using my wedding dress as an inspiration to this cake.  I always like the classic look and really love lace so it was no surprise that I went that route for my wedding dress design.  My dress was custom made in the Philippines and was made out of lace, Spanish tulle, small pearls and rhinestones.  I picked 2 elements that I really love about my dress and those are the lace appliques and the pearls,  so that's basically how my design came to life.
Here are the materials that I used to create the design for my wedding dress cake:
2 Lace applique molds from Etsy (I'm obsessed with Etsy!)
Pearl Molds by First Impressions
Flowers on top are made out sugar paste and dusted with a subtle petal and pearl dust

This cake was definitely fun to make, a lot of molding to create the details but definitely worth it.
